Boca Raton-Florida- One of America’s foremost advocates for America’s military members and their families will now be writing for TheBright.com®. Lt. Col. Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) will be writing a monthly column for the website that is dedicated to those who serve and protect us, including Military members and First Responders. The North Column will focus on the news, issues and affairs concerning our military members.

The first column published today coincides with Veteran’s Day and the 238th Marine Corps Birthday and focuses on whom he calls “American Heroes.” As a proponent for the military Col. North is dedicated to telling the stories of those who selflessly serve our country and this column will do the same as you can tell from this excerpt, “My heroes don’t wear spandex suits and capes – they wear 30 lb. flak jackets; 4 lb. Kevlar helmets, combat boots or flight suits and they go to work in the most difficult and dangerous places on earth.” You can read the full column here.

Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North is a combat decorated Marine, a recipient of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor and 2 Purple Hearts for being wounded in action. From 1983 to 1986 he served as the U.S. government’s counter-terrorism coordinator on the National Security Council staff. President Ronald Reagan described him as “an American Hero.” Col. North is also a New York Times best-selling author and host of the award winning “War Stories” documentary series on The Fox News Channel. His most recent book, “American Heroes on the Homefront,” was released earlier this month. Despite all of these accomplishments he claims his greatest achievement is to be the “husband of 1, father of 4-and grandfather of 14.”
